MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake shook La Union on Thursday afternoon, said the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology (Phivolcs). Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at exactly 5:57 p.m. with its epicenter located 7 kilometers southwest of Bauang, La Union.
